Isopropyl Alcohol 70% is a clear, colorless, fast-evaporating alcohol solution containing approximately 70% isopropyl alcohol in water. It is a versatile solvent and cleaning agent widely used for surface cleaning, degreasing, laboratory applications, electronics cleaning and general industrial sanitation.

Commercial 70% IPA products commonly specify an IPA concentration around 68-72% v/v, with density around 0.872-0.883 g/mL at 20°C

Usage of Iso Propyl Alcohol 70%

IPA 70% is suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications, including:

  • Disinfection and hygiene applications where the applicable procedure permits
  • Laboratory cleaning
  • Equipment cleaning
  • Glass and hard-surface cleaning
  • Electronics and electrical component cleaning, subject to equipment compatibility
  • Removal of oils and grease
  • Removal of fingerprints and residues
  • Printing and manufacturing applications
  • General-purpose solvent applications
  • Cleaning of tools and machinery
  • Pharmaceutical and healthcare cleaning applications when supplied in the appropriate grade and used under the applicable validated procedure
  Other applications including solvent use, disinfectant applications, all-purpose cleaning, degreasing, extraction and cleaning fluids.
